Argyll Junior LeagueS

Argyll Junior League Badminton is now in its third full season, allowing young players (8-18yrs) to have fun and develop full-court playing skills – whether it’s your first competition or a regular competitor. Players are split into ability-based round-robin groups, irrespective of age/sex with possible play-offs if time allows.

Venues rotate between Mid-Argyll Sports Centre, Lochgilphead and Atlantis Leisure, Oban. This year, for the first time we are introducing a Doubles event.

Events are :

Lochgilphead Singles, Sunday 9th November from 12:00 to 4:00 pm in the Mid Argyll Sports Centre, Lochgilphead. Entries open 19th Oct, entries close 2nd Nov.  To enter, click here  

Oban Doubles, Sunday 7th December, 1:00 to 5:00 pm, Atlantis Leisure, Oban. Entries open 10th Nov, entries close 30th Nov. To enter, click here

Lochgilphead Singles, Sunday 22nd Feb / 1st Mar (date /time to be confirmed) in the Mid Argyll Sports Centre, Lochgilphead. Entries open 8th Dec, entries close 15th/22nd Dec.  To enter, click here 

Oban Singles, Sunday 26th April, 12 to 4:00 pm, Atlantis Leisure, Oban. Entries open 2nd Mar, entries close 19th Apr. To enter, click here

Entry is £6 per player. Payment is by bank transfer only, to “Argyll and Bute Schools Badminton”, Sort Code: 80-17-99, Account Number: 06006650. Please include the player’s name as the reference.

Please note the following:

• Entry fees cannot be refunded for late cancellation

• Late entries may not be accepted

• In line with Badminton Scotland’s advice, no coaching on the day will be allowed.

• Feather shuttles will be used throughout.

• Badminton Scotland ranking points are not awarded for this event.

• There are no geographic restrictions on entries.

• Entrants are responsible for arranging appropriate insurance coverage if required.

• Neither the committee nor the Sports Centre will be liable in respect of personal loss or injury.

• Contact details will be used solely for administering the league and not shared with anyone beyond our statutory duties.
